1. What and when was the Industrial Revolution?
The industrial revolution brought rapid unbanization and population growth to neraly every country it reached. These revolution begans between 18th and 19th century.
In addition to the urbanization and popultion growth , the Industrial Revolution created a new working class comprised of industrial workers and there were some developmemt such as mining, manufacturing and argriculture and transtoprting. This revolution ,it started in England, then gradually spreading throughout Eurpe , North America , and lastly the world. Also, that was turing poing in human history.
-Both paintings featured on this blog, that are from the early 1900s were painted by Modernist painters from the group called 'Futurists' . The Fururists celebrated the machine, and objects in motion. Their primary objective was to depict movement, which they saw as symbolic of their commitment to the dynamic forward thrust ofthe 20th century.
2. Research both Modernist paintings in order to comment on the subject matter, form and style used to celebrate the machine and motion in each painting. Anser the qustion in 2 parts for each painting.

The first painting's artist name is umberto Boccioni and he is one of the futurists. As he is also futurists, when i saw his working , there were dynamic motion of people and horse. he used bright and worm colour it makes clearly can see the motion (activity). also, i really like his skill little bit rough and there are many lines.
The second painting was more focas on the movement of the dogs . it descrived the dogs runing motion little bit more over acting that's why we couldnt see the dog's leg and as wee can see the floor can helps more activity by using lines .
Cao Fei's RMB City (2007-9) refers to China's recent rapid industialisation and urbanization.

3. Research Cao Fei's RMB City (2007-9) in order to comment on this work in more depth.
i.e what images has she used in her digital collage that refer to China's present and history, and why has she used these.
RMB city shows a perverse view of Beijing - al blend of communism, socialism and capitalism .Like Beijing itself it is constantly under constraction, candy - striped smoke staks suggest continuous industrial production and ship move goods. Also , there are chinese flag and some building all of that makes by 3D images.
In my personal view, there are some serious problem when there are huge development thats why in her working , there are some broken things and fire (smoke) and little bit unusual images.
4. RMB city is described as a utopia/dystopia.
comment on what these therms mean, and how they can be applied to the work.
The utopia is an ideal community or society possessing a perfect social system. i think , the meaning of utopia
is everything is perfect and picesful and there is no stressful matter . but this is non -exist plase in reality.
as we can see RMB city , it could be utopia but it is not real. However the maning of Dystopia is the opposite of utopia. it is everyting is unpleasant, easly, everything is bad .
5.Although the Modernist paintings and the contemporary digital work have emerged from different contexts, there are also many similarities. comment on the similarities that you can see in the work.
Look at the moving digital image at vimeo.com/4272260, if you have not already reserched it.
The term fo mordernist painting is usually associated with art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation. Modern artists experimented with new ways of seeing and with fresh ideas about the nature of materials and functions of art. and there are also some movement by using a line and different types of skills but it is really simple . i think the silmilarity between both things are the varity of materials and simple paintings. the digital work used 3D by unsing a computer or other things but it really looks simple and easily read it as the RMB city.

When I read your blog I found that the artist is very interesting and the works are also great to give ideas of Industrialization. Cao Fei is well explained the Industrialization with RMB city. After I read your statements, I started to research about the artist; I was surprised that RMB city is described as a utopia/dystopia. It is very interesting that has described as a utopia. However I agree with your comments on the blog.
